Galileo the next best thing

Galileo is now widely considered the best sire in Europe since his own great sire Sadler's Wells, although Galileo has a long way to go yet to replicate his sire's remarkable 14 consecutive Champion Sire Title he is certainly doing it the right way.

Galileo's first sire title came in 2008 after he sired Derby winner New Approach and he also sired the classy filly Lush Lashes Galileo finished placed in 2009 but regained his title in 2010 and has not lost it since siring horses of the calibre as Misty For Me, Cape Blanco, Frankel, Galikova, Great Heavens, Nathaniel, Maybe, Was, New Approach ,Lush Lashes etc.

Galileo's first sire son was classic winner Sixties Icon a regally bred son of two Epsom winners Sixties Icon was a dominant winner of the St Leger, he became one of the leading First Season Sires after a huge year with his two year olds.

New Approach Galileo's only epsom derby winner to date also got off the mark in style he became champion first season sire in 2012 after a record breaking year that saw him sire three Ascot Stakes winners in a week {the only sire to do so} and he also sired European champion and unbeaten two year old and now classic winner Dawn Approach who yesterday landed the 2000Guineas at Newmarket on his seasonal debut a first classic win for his sire and he is also the first grandson of Galileo to win the 2,000G.

Galileo's dual group one winning son and fellow EU champion two year old Teofilo is also a sire doing quite well with two individual group one winners to his name like New approach he stands under the Darley Roster.

Red Rocks a BC winning son of Galileo recently got off the mark as a two year old sire with his very first runner recently he stands at stud in Italy.

Galileo is also heavily sought out after in the US with his three times US Grade1 winning son Cape Blanco being North America's busiest sire covering over 200 mares his first crop are foals, other exciting young sires coming along are Nathaniel , Frankel and Rip Van Winkle standing at Newsells Park, Juddmonte Farms and Coolmore respectively.

Since he retired to stud in 2002 Galileo has sired over thirty individual Group one winners a remarkable record for still a relatively young sire and with more talent on the way plus some extremely exciting sire sons it looks like the reign will be Galileo's for some time.
